چکیده
Mobility is attracting more and more interests due to its importance for data forwarding mechanisms in many networks such as mobile opportunistic network. In everyday life mobile nodes are often carried by human. Thus, mobile nodes’ mobility pattern is inevitable affected by human social character. This paper presents a novel mobility model (HNGM) which combines social character and Gauss-Markov process together. The performance analysis on this mobility model is given and one famous and widely used mobility model (RWP) is chosen to make comparison..

Impact of the Gauss-Markov Mobility Model on Network Connectivity, Lifetime and Hop Count of Routes for Mobile Ad hoc Networks
The high-level contribution of this paper is a simulation based analysis of the network connectivity, hop count and lifetime of the routes determined for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) using the Gauss-Markov mobility model. The Random Waypoint mobility model is used as a benchmark in the simulation studies. Two kinds of routes are determined: routes with the longest lifetime (stable paths) and...
متن کاملDesign and Analysis of a 3-D Gauss-Markov Mobility Model for Highly Dynamic Airborne Networks
Accurate mobility models are needed to simulate the physical movement of nodes in a highly-dynamic aeronautical network. The fundamental problem with many synthetic mobility models is their random, memoryless behavior. Airborne ad hoc networks require a flexible memory-based 3-dimensional mobility model. We present a new 3-dimensional implementation of the Gauss-Markov mobility model for airbor...
متن کاملModeling Performance Optimization in a Non- Cooperative Ad Hoc Network
Mobile ad hoc networks represent a special class of dynamic networks. Here nodes act as both hosts and routers whereby the routing protocol forms the backbone of such networks. Mobile ad hoc networks are constrained by bandwidth, energy and ever changing topologies. Thus to conserve some of these scarce resources, a few nodes may stop cooperation. In this paper we model a dynamic noncooperative...
متن کاملTowards Content Distribution in Opportunistic Networks
Opportunistic networking is a new communication paradigm. Content Distribution in opportunistic networks is challenging due to intermittent connectivity, short connection durations and a highly dynamic topology. Research is needed to develop new applications and protocols that can distribute content in opportunistic networks. This thesis explores and evaluates approaches to developing mobile P2...
متن کاملA Simulation Study on the Impact of Mobility Models on the Network Connectivity, Hop Count and Lifetime of Routes for Ad hoc Networks
The high-level contribution of this paper is a simulation-based analysis of the network connectivity, hop count and lifetime of the routes determined for ad hoc networks under the following four mobility models: Random Waypoint model, Gauss-Markov model, City Section model and the Manhattan model. Two kinds of routes are determined: routes with the minimum hop count and routes with the longest ...
